I had always thought that I would be able to live a life like Leonardo da Vinci during the 15th century, exploring every possible branch of knowledge. I didn’t realise though, until recently, that the Renaissance era was very different from today and that I don’t need to do it in the way they did.
Nowadays, with the presence of the internet and access to pretty much anything you wish, we no longer need to be so broadly focused. That is not to say we should be too specialised either. After all, being multifaceted is a desirable trait and needed today.
I always wanted to focus on everything I was good at. But I realised that I don’t need to do that and it’s not necessarily beneficial for me nor anybody else, so lately I refocused Miroslavo to a product design and development, R&D and art studio. Why?
Well, it’s quite simple. Invention, design and development of new products is something I have a passion for and where I can fully utilise my talent and background in design, marketing, engineering, science, business, art and research. I love learning, inventing and innovating. New product design and development gives me the opportunity to do exactly that. And it still provides me with a way to learn about many different fields but related to the specific project, so I still explore many branches of knowledge but in a way that is effective.
The other field is art which is an important part of me and gives me the outlet for free self-expression. It’s where I can project all my thoughts and emotions without much limitation. I’m limited only by the laws of nature, physics and tools available, otherwise, I’m free to create pretty much anything in order to achieve high aesthetic quality.
It took me a while to find which fields are really worth focusing on, but the years and years of learning and experimenting paid off. That is not to say, I might not enter another field in the future, but I know for sure, that the aforementioned fields have been making me tick and happy for some time now and it is where I plan to focus most of my attention on.
