Structured Chaos Abstract Painting by Miroslavo

Why Should You Collect Original Art?

Original artwork. What is that anyway? What constitutes an original piece of art? In the art world, it means that only one piece of that artwork is in existence. Since a painting is done by that particular artist, it becomes a unique expression of that particular person. However, some artists may be more original than others though as that’s where intelligence, creativity, and ingenuity come into the picture. There will be artists who paint in a similar style using the same techniques, and there will be artists who are recognized for their specific way of painting, these are, for example, historic artists we know today as Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Vincent Van Gogh, Joan Miró, Frida Kahlo, etc. They made a mark on the art world with their unique style that is recognized as theirs without needing anyone to tell them that it’s by them.

Clearing doubts about original art

Well, this is an important question as many people I have met have doubts, for example, they think they must understand art in order to own art. Or they think that owning art is something only for the super-rich and that it costs millions of dollars to buy. None of that is true. You don’t have to understand art at all, what is important is that you like what you see, what it makes you feel, and what it makes you think. That’s it. As for the price tags, paintings come in different price ranges and sizes. For example, I sell original art from €50 all the way to €2000, from as small as 12x16cm to 160x130cm.

Why should you collect it?

Well, collecting and purchasing paintings is the single most exciting thing you can do to enrich your life and bring more meaning to it. It can evoke many beautiful and soothing emotions in your home, office, or anywhere else you hang it. It can provide you with an emotional safety place, where you project your own emotions and get an answer in return. It can get you through tough times as well as inspire you in joyful times. This is a thing you have at your disposal all your life when you purchase an original piece of art. That’s one of the biggest reasons why you should collect it and invest in it!

In addition to that, by buying art, you directly support the artist, so they can make more art and make this world a better place. It can also make a good long-term financial investment and decorate your interior as that’s one of the things that make a home feel like home.
