What is Industrial Design?
Industrial design is a professional creative process, which integrates a series of scientific, technical and artistic fields. It’s a process that is applied to products that will be mass-produced.
The designer is usually responsible for creating and defining the form, material, colour, user experience, function and mechanical properties of the product. The product’s design is then reproduced using automated processes, which is the main difference between an art-based design where the shape is defined by the specific moment.
In short, an industrial designer designs and applies solutions to the following aspects of a product: shape, aesthetics, function, ergonomics, and material.
Our ID Expertise
My design and engineering experience in the field of design and innovation spans a period of 10 years. With that I opened my own industrial design agency. I have worked on various projects, ranging from redesigning simple components to advanced electronic systems, as well as creating new and innovative designs, mainly dealing with the design of the case and how it all comes together.
I have a background in mechanical engineering, so I also understand the more technical side of design. Aesthetics and form are also something I pay great attention to, as I believe that great design is a combination of aesthetics, function and manufacturability.
The products we have collaborated on are on the market. Additionally, I have participated in over 25 art and design exhibitions around the world, winning a couple of design awards along the way.
