Biography

Miroslav Stibůrek (born 1987 in Benešov, Czech Republic), also known as Miroslavo, is a contemporary artist, designer, and creative strategist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, design, photography, and visual communication. Best known for his expressive paintings, his work explores movement, form, colour, and emotion through a distinctive visual language that bridges abstraction and figuration. His paintings are held in private collections across Czechia, Spain, Mexico, England, and the United States.

Alongside his artistic practice, Miroslav has built an international career in design and branding, recognised for elegant, modern, and forward-thinking visual concepts. Over the years, he has received multiple awards for his work in design and has collaborated with companies in the fields of branding, strategy, and marketing.

After living in Czechia and England, he settled in Barcelona, Spain, in 2016, where he continues to develop his artistic practice and expand his body of work. His practice increasingly embraces a fluid and international way of living, working between Barcelona, Prague, and other locations, allowing his work to evolve through movement, cultural exchange, and changing environments.

Raised in a creative and entrepreneurial environment, he was exposed from an early age to both artistic expression and independent thinking—an influence that continues to shape his multidisciplinary approach today.

His career moves fluidly between fine art and design, combining technical precision with expressive freedom. While his experience extends across several creative disciplines, painting remains at the centre of his practice and long-term artistic vision. 

Rather than following a fixed narrative, Miroslav approaches art as an evolving reflection of life, movement, and experience. His work is inspired by changing environments, personal encounters, and the tension between structure and freedom. Through colour, playful symbolism, gesture, and expressive form, he explores themes of identity, aliveness, harmony, and the systems that shape contemporary human existence.

Miroslav has participated in exhibitions across galleries, commercial spaces, and cultural institutions, steadily building an international presence. In 2024, he co-founded Miroslavo Art Gallery, further strengthening his involvement in the contemporary art scene and supporting emerging artistic dialogue.

Driven by curiosity, experimentation, and a relentless pursuit of growth, Miroslav represents a new generation of multidisciplinary artists whose practice exists beyond traditional categories. His work reflects a belief that art is not merely a profession or form of expression, but a lifelong way of seeing, questioning, and shaping the world.
