Resumen
Flourishing Shot Glass explores how cultural narrative and industrial form can meet in a single handheld object. The piece translates Mayan symbolism into a contemporary drinking vessel without becoming costume or cliché.
Reto
Design a distinctive glassware object that feels collectible and manufacturable — expressive enough to win international attention, precise enough to function as everyday product.
Proceso
Research into Mayan motifs informed silhouette studies, material tests, and colour explorations. Form iterations balanced symbolic ornament with clean manufacturing constraints for glass.
Concepto
A flourishing silhouette: organic growth expressed through structured curves, colour accents, and a base that feels ceremonial without sacrificing stability.
Desarrollo
Refined proportions for hand feel, pour, and visual presence on shelf. Colour and surface treatments were tuned for photography and retail display.
Ejecución
Final design delivered as a finished product concept with award submission materials and presentation photography.
Resultado
Recognised with an A’ Design Award and established a flagship industrial design case for the studio’s product practice.
