How to Stay Productive Part 2—Exercise Regularly

Last time, we discussed how good sleep routine can help us with staying productive throughout the week.

This time, I would like to mention another very important point that contributes to good productivity—exercise.

[blockquote text=”Regular exercise routine can make you happier, smarter, and more energetic.” text_color=”” width=”” line_height=”undefined” background_color=”” border_color=”” show_quote_icon=”yes” quote_icon_color=””]

Feeling good about yourself can have a positive impact on your productivity. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, chemicals which make you feel good and positive. So why not utilise this natural source of confidence?

How often should you exercise?

Like with anything, making exercise once a month will not have much impact on your productivity. So like with sleeping, sticking to a routine is the key here.

The greatest benefit, whether you are a trained athlete or a beginner, comes from exercising 3-4 times a week and it’s important to take rest days between them to let the body recover. That is not to say one should be a slave to that frequency. In the end, it’s important to do what feels right and good for your body. However, it is beneficial to exercise regularly for a long-term effect on productivity.

What I can recommend from my own experience though is to not start off by exercising 3 times a week when you have never exercised before or haven’t been accustomed to that frequency in a long time. Maybe start once a week, do that for 2 months, get used to the routine. Then, add an extra day to the week and so on. It will make your life much easier.

Now, you might think, hell, this is impossible, I have got a lot of other things to do like this, that and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Believe me and millions of other people, it is possible, you just need to manage your time better.

Like J.M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pen said:

[blockquote text=”The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” text_color=”” width=”” line_height=”undefined” background_color=”” border_color=”” show_quote_icon=”yes” quote_icon_color=””]

So go grab a pen and write down your plan for physical activities and get going.

Investing in your body and mental health is the best investment a person can ever make.

P.S. I wrote this article whenever I came from the gym, and it was a breeze to finish it off because I just felt so motivated to write this.
