Minimalism

« Back to Glossary Index

1Minimalism is the art of expressing a complex idea in its simplest form.

The minimalistic approach can be used in almost every area of knowledge and life.

It ultimately means living or performing with the least possible resources or outcome while retaining all the necessary components.

In life, it can mean getting rid of unnecessary stuff we don’t need, but can happily live without.

In art, it can mean expressing oneself or an idea with the simplest shapes, colours, and compositions, while still communicating the necessary message.

In philosophy, it can mean summarising a complex idea into one simple quote.

Minimalism is usually the hardest to achieve as one has to constantly simplify every action and doing to maximise minimalism.[:]
